Bahadur Shah Zafar Nikahnama - Urdu

SKU
bsz-nikahnama-u

Our masterpiece “Bahadur Shah Zafar” nikahnama is a recreation of the marriage contract of the last Mughal emperor of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar, with his wife, Zeenat Mahal, on November 18, 1840.

The design and colours of the original 19th century nikahnama have been replicated, with utmost care taken to include the original Arabic text correctly. The intricate, fine floral motifs and patterns render a rich look to the nikahnama, while the antique beige-cream hues transport you to the glorious past.

The Arabic and Urdu calligraphy is handwritten by veteran artist Mohammed Ilyas.

This nikahnama can be personalised with the names of the bride and groom, their respective fathers and their addresses.

The nikahnama is printed on high-quality canvas, tightened to a handmade wooden scroll holder and placed in a handmade velvet and satin box. Please note the scrollholder and box are optional. If you select them, you will be charged for them.

A digital image of the nikahnama will be emailed or WhatsApped for proofing twice, after which it will be printed and dispatched. Any change after the nikahnama has been printed will be done at an additional cost of Rs 1000. Please place your order at least two weeks before the date of marriage.

Two additional copies (on simple A4 sheets) will be part of the package, along with a marker-pen for writing and signing on canvas.

Take out the nikahnama from the box and unroll it from the scrollholder, adding subtle drama to the nikah ceremony. Feel like a Mughal king or queen yourself on the most important day of your life.
