Set of 4 postcards, each measuring 6 x 9 inches

Each postcard has a Name of Allah.

Pair on top: Al-Ghani Al-Hameed

Al Ghani: The Rich, The Self-Sufficient, The One Who is free of all needs. The One Whom we can neither help nor harm. If we do good, it is not because Allah is in need of that good, it is because that good benefits us. If we do evil, that evil only damages us.

Al Hameed: The One Who Is Worthy of All Praise. In our daily prayers, we thank Allah when we recite Surah Al Fatiha (‘Alhamdillah-ir-Rabbil-Aalameen). We feel and express gratitude to him not only for His Blessings, but also for praise Him for His Perfection.

Allah is in no need of our praise (Al Ghani) but we need to praise him (Al Hameed) because without His Mercy and Grace, we wouldn’t even exist, let alone anything else. All of Allah’s Creations celebrate His praise. ‘Al Ghani’ and ‘Al Hameed’ are paired in Surah Al Baqarah and Surah Al Faatir: ‘O you who have believed, spend from the good things which you have earned and from that which We have produced for you from the earth. And do not aim toward the defective therefrom, spending [from that] while you would not take it [yourself] except with closed eyes. And know that Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.’ (Quran 2:267) ‘O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.’ (Quran 35:15)

Pair below: Al Ghafoor Al Haleem

Al Ghafoor: The One who Forgives Greatly. The One Who Accepts our repentance, Forgives us completely and covers our faults

Al Haleem: The Most Forbearing. The One who gives respite and does not hasten to punish the one who disobeys Him or goes against His command.

Al-Ghafoor and Al Haleem are two Attributes of Allah that complement each other. It is because Allah is Al Haleem (Most Forbearing) that He forgives our faults (Al Ghafoor). The two Names are used in pair in Surah Al Baqarah: “Allah does not impose blame upon you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He imposes blame upon you for what your hearts have earned. And Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.” (Quran 2:225) “There is no blame upon you for that to which you [indirectly] allude concerning a proposal to women or for what you conceal within yourselves. Allah knows that you will have them in mind. But do not promise them secretly except for saying a proper saying. And do not determine to undertake a marriage contract until the decreed period reaches its end. And know that Allah knows what is within yourselves, so beware of Him. And know that Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.” (Quran 2:235)

Size of each postcard: 6 x 9 inches

On the back are lines for writing your message. You can give them as gifts, or even frame them for your desk or wall.
