Text: Al-Ghani Al-Haleem

Translation:

Al-Ghani and Al-Haleem are two of the 99 Beautiful Names of Allah

Al Ghani: The Rich, The Self-Sufficient, The One Who is free of all needs and needs no help. The One Whom we can neither help nor harm. If we do good, it is not because Allah is in need of that good, it is because that good benefits us. If we do evil, that evil only damages us.

Al Haleem: The Most Forbearing. The One who gives respite and does not hasten to punish the one who disobeys Him or goes against His command.

The two Names are paired with each other in Surah Al Baqarah:

“Kind speech and forgiveness are better than charity followed by injury. And Allah is Free of need and Forbearing.” (Quran 2:263)
